More Oddities

April Fools Day seems like as good a day as any to add to my roadside oddities post.

In Arkansas we didn’t see many strange items on the road. However, we caught a number of unique items while window shopping in Hot Springs:

A coffee shop carefully disguised the purpose of the business with a gorilla working on a computer and a human sinking in quicksand while saving his lunch.

I’m not sure how this was supposed to get customers interested in coffee, but it did get my attention.

Another store seemed to specialize in toilet paper dispensers. I’m sure one of these statues would add to the comfort of doing private business. I’d like to see these in a restroom at an Arkansas rest stop.

A second collection in the store window showed wine holders. I’ll let you interpret these as you will.

When entering Oklahoma, we were immediately faced with a huge waterfall falling over the side of a building and fire shooting from the top. It all made perfect sense when I saw that this monstrosity was a casino.

We spent some time in Bartlesville, Oklahoma where we found a number of painted bulls. One plays baseball. Another bull, inspired by Van Gogh, is painted with a Bartlesville starry night scene and is signed on the balls.
