Sometimes It's the Little Things in Life


It's fall and the trees are beginning to turn in Zion. The yellow leaves light up in the sun. The maples mimic the color of the rock.

As we hike, and wade, through the Narrows, I watch as leaves fall from trees and flow past rocks and over patterns in the sand below.

I see one bright yellow leaf on the river bank and decide to throw it into the water to see where the currents take it. The leaf twists and turns in the current revealing its color then losing it as it turns over. Finally it is lost under a rock.
